    Lechuza Caracas keeps the winning streak also in the Santa Maria Polo Club Gold Cup

     

    Lechuza Caracas, winner of the Maserati Silver Cup, keeps the winning streak also in the Santa Maria Polo Club High Goal Gold Cup of after defeating Dubai by 12 goals to 11 in extra chukker.

     

    A 40-yard penalty scored by Juan Martin Nero gave Lechuza Caracas the victory in a very tight match, with a great deal of excitement and suspense in the final chukkers. 

     

    Dubai, with Pablo Mac Donough leading the team, made a great comeback in the last 14 minutes of the match to even the game and take it to over time. In the extra chukker, finally a 40 yard penalty scored by Juan Martín Nero decided the triumph for Lechuza Caracas.

    “It was a very complicated game. The first game of the team in the Gold Cup and mine also after travelling from Argentina to replace injured Alejo Taranco. Dubai is always a complicated opponent and we didn´t took advantage of the chances we had to close before the match. I play for Lechuza Caracas and with Juanma (Nero) in the last three years but despite of that it´s never easy to get into a new team and mostly in the Gold Cup”. The Santa María Polo Club Gold Cup continues tomorrow with Ayala Polo Team playing against La Indiana from 7 pm at Los Pinos field 3.

     

    Aerolíneas Argentinas Medium Goal Gold Cup

     

    Royal Salute remains unbeaten at the Aerolíneas Argentinas Gold Cup after defeating Sainte Mesme by 12 goals to 10 in the single match held today at this trophy. The Gold Cup Aerolíneas Argentinas will resume tomorrow with a double action day. Equus, Silver Cup champion, will face Golden Goose Deluxe Brand from 5 pm at Los Pinos field 1 while Twenty 20 will play against Bardon at field 2 from 6.30 pm.

     

     

    Isolas 1892 Low Handicap Gold Cup 

     

    Jolly Rogers Kings of Polo had a successful debut at the Isolas 1892 Gold Cup after defeating La Mangosta by 11 goals to 8 this morning at Puente de Hierro fields. The Isolas Gold Cup will continue next Friday with a full action day from 11 am at Puente de Hierro. The matches are as follows: Sapphire vs. Jolly Rogers, La Mangosta vs. La Clarita and Sardañola vs. FCT Sotovila.

     

    In this 46th edition of the Tournament more than 21 teams are taking part of the competition, with a large number of elite players, including four of the top 10 players in world polo ranking: Facundo Pieres, who will play with Ayala Polo Team; Juan Martín Nero and Pablo MacDonough, who will stand up for Brunei and Dubai Polo Teams, and the Uruguayan David Stirling. 

     

    Besides polo matches, attendance, that´s free during almost all the season matches, has many leisure activities available: a varied gastronomy, Shopping Village, children's area, bars, After Polo night parties.
