World Championship play-offs & Women European Championship
    April 28th to May 7th 2017

The French Team is revealed !

The French polo federation is about to announce the constitution of the French team which will face Spain, Ireland, Germany and the Netherlands. These teams will try to win one of the two European tickets to the eleventh FIP Polo World Championship that will take place in Sydney, from October 17th to 29th 2017.

The tournament promises to be intense and highly competitive, as two tickets to Australia to play in the beautiful and oldest polo club in the country, the Sydney Polo Club, founded in 1876, are at stakes. That is why two handicap 5 are selected in the tricolour selection: Pierre-Henri Ngoumou and Patrick Paillol, already called in 2016 to play the top-level game against Argentina for the 20th anniversary of the Polo Club de Chantilly’s event. They will play alongside the young talented handicap 3, Julien Reynes, also accustomed to represent the French colours in official tournaments. Last year, he was part of the team which vice-champion at the Berlin European Championship, spooking a certain Irish team. This team will evolve under the leadership of its captain, Alexandre Sztarkman, handicap 1, who had realized the very good performance to rattle the strong team of Marquard Media during the final of the Open de France de Polo Paprec in 2016.

On the bench of the substitutes, the French team will also have the chance to count on excellent players, such as Clément Delfosse, also in the French team for the game on May 22nd 2016, Florent Garaud, team-mate of Julien Reynes in Berlin, Adrien Legallo and Corentin Maillet.

In parallel to this high-level tournament, a European Women's Championship will be held for the first time, also honouring a French team. Here too the competition will be tough because we know the strength of the English, Irish and German women's polo team. An exciting time, matches which will take place alternately with World Championships play-offs on the eight magnificent fields Chantilly has to offer.

Both tournaments will rise in power and on Sunday, may 7, in a festive setting on the honorary 1st Field , we will find out the winners of the European Championship and the two teams that will be elected to go to Sydney. We hope to see a lot of blue this day! Lunches, live commentary of the games, entertainment and a shopping village will be on the menu.
