The HPA and the Flannels Group announce landmark sponsorship agreement
Sport’s oldest governing body The Hurlingham Polo Association (HPA) announces an exciting sponsorship deal in support of British Polo, with luxury fashion retailer The Flannels Group (Flannels).
The Hurlingham Polo Association (HPA) and Flannels today announced they are joining forces in a ground-breaking 5-year strategic partnership, in support of British Polo, which includes the Shirt Sponsorship of all England Polo Teams and Professional Umpires.
Polo’s oldest governing body and the spiritual home of the modern game, the HPA recently revealed a new brand identity to celebrate its 140th anniversary and has now partnered with Flannels, one of the UK’s leading luxury fashion retailers renowned for offering a luxury lifestyle that is as traditional as it is modern.
The HPA’s authority in the Sport of Polo and its brand values reflect authenticity with a distinct British appeal. Coupled with Flannels’ specialism in luxury and its aspirations of growth, the partnership creates the perfect synergy and heralds an exciting development for both organisations.
David Woodd, Chief Executive at the HPA, said: “Our announcement today represents the next chapter on our exciting journey. It’s a very significant step indeed, as this will be the biggest Sponsorship agreement that the association has entered into. We are fully confident that working closely with Flannels will assist the HPA and the Sport of Polo to become more accessible to millions of consumers and help us raise awareness of our sport, whilst simultaneously preserving the heritage, values and ethos of the HPA brand.”
A representative for Flannels, Carl Tallents, said: “The association between the HPA brand and the Sport of Polo is an incredibly exciting one. It is quintessentially British yet international, and as such is perfectly positioned to partner with Flannels and its long-term aspirations to connect with the lifestyle consumer. Flannels speaks of genuine luxury and timeless quality; all of which are highly desirable for the modern consumer. We look forward to working with the HPA over the coming five years and seeing the resulting growth.”
